JTC, SKF protest enters 150th day

JAMMU, Feb 28: The Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) continued its protest sit-in for 150th day at Jagti township today.
Addressing the protesters Shadi Lal Pandita president, Jagti JTC , SKF and convener of PCC Migrant Cell J&K said that BJP is giving step mother treatment to Kashmiri migrants. He said that before coming to power, the party had promised sky to Kashmiri Pandits. It had said that if it comes to power at Centre it will solve all the problems of displaced Kashmiri Pandits. After that, when the BJP came to power, it forgot every thing about Kashmiri Pandits. “We the Kashmiri Pandits protesting in Jagti township for 150th days to get our demands met have been totally ignored by this Government”, he added.
Pandita said that the Government should increase the monthly cash relief of migrant relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 immediately besides settling their other demands which included settlement of the community in three townships in Kashmir valley in the districts of Srinagar, Anantnag and Baramulla, release of balance ex-gratia and losses suffered by traders, farmers and orchardists in last 31 years, rehabilitation of over aged educated youth and free ration to displaced pensioners and class fourth employees of the community.
