JAMMU, Apr 2: On the 183rd day of their dharna, a strong protest was held by Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) in Jagti township near here, today.
Addressing the protesters, Shadi Lal Pandita, president JTC and SKF urged the UT and Central Government to increase the monthly cash assistance of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 without further delay. He said the Government should provide at least 20,000 posts for KP educated youth so that they can be rehabilitated.
Pandita said that the educated unemployed youth are fed up and many youth of the community are in desperation.
He also demanded compensation for the losses suffered by the community in last 31 years of turmoil by agriculturists, traders, orchardists etc. He demanded resettlement of community in three townships in three districts with political empowerment by reserving six seats in J&K Assembly and two seats in Parliament one each in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha besides free ration to migrant pensioners.
