JTC, SKF protest enters 583rd day

JAMMU, June 5: Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) protest entered 583rd day at Jagti township today.
Addressing the protesters, Shadi Lal Pandita president JTC and SKF said that the community has been forced to live in exile for the last 32 years but the BJP Government is completely ignoring exiled people from Kashmir. He said the protestors are demanding enhancement of monthly cash relief from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family but the UT and Central Government is ignoring the relief holders and forcing the exiled community to hold protest dharnas.
He said the other issue of the exile people are a job package of 20,000 jobs for unemployed youth, compensation for 32 years property loss, pending Ex-gratia relief of gutted houses, compensation for over aged youth, removal of Illegal occupation of land properties and religious places, construction of three townships in Anantnag, Srinagar and Baramulla to resettle Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley .
He further demanded political reservation of five Assembly seats and there Parliamentary seats for Kashmiri Pandits with minority status.
He said that the package employees and all Kashmiri Pandit employees who are serving in the Valley should be transferred from Kashmir to Jammu till the accommodations are constructed for all 6000 employees.
