JAMMU, July 25: The Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) protest entered 634th day at Jagti township near here, today.
Addressing the protesters Shadi Lal Pandita, president JTC and SKF said that due to rising inflation, the livelihood of the relief holders is not being maintained due to which they are totally unable to make their both ends meet.
The JTC and SKF members said that they have been protesting for 634 days and are demanding enhancement of monthly cash relief of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family but the UT and Central Government is ignoring the relief holders and forcing the exiled community to hold protest sit-in. Pandita said that 50 thousand Kashmiri Pandit families are ready to return back to Kashmir valley. For them three townships should be established in the Valley. They said that 6,000 flats should be built in the districts of Kashmir valley for package employees without wasting any more time.
The members demanded announcement of a new package of 20,000 jobs for Kashmiri Pandit migrant unemployed youth and one job be given to each family which has no Government employee.
The protesters are also demanding property loss of 32 years, pending ex-gratia relief of gutted houses, compensation for over aged youth, removal of illegal occupation of land, properties and religious places in Kashmir valley.
They demanded that three townships should be set up in Anantnag, Srinagar and Baramulla to resettle Kashmiri Pandits there. They also demanded reservation of five Assembly and three Parliamentary seats for KPs.
