JTC, SKF protest enters 99th day

JAMMU, Jan 8: The Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and  Soan  Kashmir Front (SKF) which is on constant protest for last 99 days in support of the demands of displaced Pandits held a strong demonstration at Jagti township today.
The protestors are demanding enhancement of monthly cash relief from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family.
Addressing the protesters Shadi  Lal Pandita, president JTC and SKF said though the activists of two organisations are on protest for over last three months, the Government has not met the demands till date which shows its callousness towards displaced people.
He said , Pandits are leading an exiled life for the last 31 years, but the Government has not solved their problem and maintained that the migrants are getting a meagre cash assistance while the prices have skyrocketed after the 2014. He strongly demanded enhancement of cash assistance. He also highlighted the other demands which included 20,000 job package for displaced youth with 5000 class fourth posts and free ration to migrant pensioners with construction of three satellite townships in Valley for rehabilitation of displaced Pandits.
