JAMMU, Sept 1: Jagti Tenement Committee and Soan Kashmir Front staged a sit-in protest at Jagti Township Nagrota under the leadership of its president Shadi Lal pandita, near here today.
Addressing protestors, Pandita said that they were protesting for the last 334 days for increasing monthly cash relief from Rs 13000 to 25000 per family but no one from the Government side visited here to address their genuine issue which shows that the Government is indifferent toward Kashmiri migrants. “The incumbent cash relief is very low and they are facing a lot of problems as the prices of essential commodities are increasing constantly,” he asserted.
He urged the Lieutenant Governor to address their issues as soon as possible and to announce a package for Kashmiri pandits wherein 20000 Government jobs should be announced for unemployed youth.
Raj Kumar Tickoo, Ravinder Koul, M L Razdan, Rakesh Tickoo, Kamal Ji Pandita and many others were present during the protest.
