JTTAC demands termination of all trains at Jammu

JAMMU, Oct 1: Jammu Tourist Trade Action Committee (JTTAC) today held a meeting under the chairmanship of its chairman Kuldeep Wahi and discussed various issues related to Tourism industry including their demand of termination of all trains coming from different parts of the country at Jammu.
The meeting  said that the Train service to Katra is a welcome step but there is an imperative necessity to further improve the connectivity and transport facilities to various parts of Jammu region including Katra with a view to maintain the central focal importance of Jammu city so that its development is not hampered.
The speakers demanded termination of all the trains from different parts of the country at Jammu Railway Station and also introduction of local trains between Jammu and Katra, alleging that such a mode of travel will protect the interests people connected with Tourism industry in Jammu.
The meeting further demanded completion of tourism projects in Jammu like cable car from Peer Kho to Mahamaya and Shahbad Basti, Artificial lake, restoration of Historic Mubarak Mandi complex to its pristine glory, upgradation of Bahu Fort, development of Buddhist place at Ambaran, establishment of Railway Coach Factory, abolition of service tax on pilgrimages, establishment of the office of Division Railway Manager at Jammu and expansion of the existing Jammu Railway Station.
The speakers also asserted for opening of Suchetgarh border on the pattern of Wagha border to encourage border tourism, completion of Sohni Mahiwal project in Khour Tehsil, Essal World, Laser Show at Bagh-e-Bahu and promotion of Khoon Temple at Mansar.
