JAMMU, Feb 7: With the aim to encourage and prepare students to gain useful employment in Central services, State services and equivalent positions in the private sector, the Department of Lifelong Learning (DLL), University of Jammu (JU) today started coaching classes for SC/ST/OBC and Minority communities for Bank PO/Clerical Examination.
DLL has taken a lead in providing free of cost coaching opportunity to students of minority communities under the able and dynamic leadership of Prof Manoj Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu. The department has been undertaking a large number of initiatives to cater to the specific needs of the students hailing from Minority communities so that they can excel in various competitive examinations.
The resource persons for the coaching programme present on the occasion were Dr Pallavi Gupta from the Department of English and Sanjeev Gupta from Government College of Engineering & Technology who shall be teaching these students during this two month long coaching programme.
Speaking at the programme, Director, Department of Lifelong Learning, Dr Kavita Suri highlighted the working of the Department of Lifelong Learning for reaching out to the minority communities and also directed them to remain punctual so that they are maximally benefited from this coaching programme.
Also, Dr Vivek Sharma, Senior Assistant Professor & Coordinator Coaching shared various tips to crack this examination and also informed them about the various other Coaching programmes like Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS), National Eligibility Test (NET), State Eligibility Test (SET) and Remedial coaching being conducted in various degree colleges of Jammu region. He motivated the students to perform to their optimum capacity with confidence and adequate preparation for attaining success in the various competitive examinations.
