JAMMU, Sept 21: Sunil Mirza, General Manager (S&D) of The Hindu Group, today interacted with the students of MBA 1st and 3rd Semesters of The Business School, University of Jammu.
His interaction focused on apprising the students about the relevance of media, both print and digital, in enhancing the skills and employability of the students by keeping them updated with the contemporary issues to remain relevant.
While emphasizing the importance of differentiating between facts and fiction, he highlighted the need to identify the fake updates spread in the social media. He also encouraged the students to develop the habit of reading newspapers in order to be aware of the latest authentic news which is also reliable. He also elaborated on the diverse career opportunities that the media sector offers to the students.
The students found the session quite informative and raised a lot of queries which were duly addressed by the resource person. He was accompanied by Devender Kumar, Assistant Regional Manager, Sales & Distribution, The Hindu Group of Publications.
Earlier, Prof Vinay Chauhan, Director of The Business School, apprised the students of the possibilities of employment and training opportunities with The Hindu Group. The event was coordinated by Dr Amisha Gupta, Associate Professor, TBS, JU.
