JU discusses strategies for timely result of exams

JAMMU, May 7: Under fire over unprecedented delay in declaration of examination results,  Jammu University today discussed strategies for delivering results on time of all PG Courses.
A meeting in this regard was held today under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar.
Main focus of the meet was to reduce the time gap between the conduct of examinations and evaluation of answer scripts. It was decided that the time gap for undergoing various processes be reduced and completed in a target specific manner with active collaboration of Convenors of Board of Studies and Heads of various Departments of the University. Further, it was resolved that the evaluation process will be made more transparent so as to deliver the results on time and to the best satisfaction of the students. The Controller of Examinations and all Heads of Departments were present in the meeting.
According to the sources, Governor N N Vohra  is learnt to have taken serious notice of the reports that Jammu University was taking more than four-five months in  delivering results of  the exams despite less number of candidates.
Further, there was a series of protests by NSF and other student organizations over the issue.
