JAMMU, Apr 6: Amid unprecedented spike in Covid cases, Jammu University is gearing up for its 18th Convocation even as the JU authorities that no final decision has been taken for holding the mega event.
Assuming a tentative date for holding the convocation on April 30, 2021, Jammu University has also formed 29 different committees for management and successful conduct of the event.
First meeting of the Core Committee members, Conveners and Co-conveners of all the committees was held today in the Vice-Chancellor’s secretariat for discussing the arrangements.
However, JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Manoj Dhar told the Excelsior that no final decision has been taken for holding the convocation in view of prevailing Covid pandemic and increasing number of cases. “The university is just preparing itself to meet the arrangements in case the event is scheduled in near future since the Convocation is due for the last one year,” he added.
