JAMMU, June 19: Amidst speculations that Jammu University administration may issue a formal order for regularization of some casual labourers, fresh batch of employees began fast continuing the ongoing chain hunger strike, which entered into 8th day today.
Gangandeep Singh, Ajay, Naresh, Tejinder Singh and Gagandeep Singh (Junior) sat on chain hunger strike while the protesting class-IV employees held a demonstration and took out a rally on the campus.
Meanwhile, sources said that Jammu University is likely to issue a formal order conceding the demand for regularization of Casual Labourers. About one third of the Casual Labourers, who have completed seven years in service, are likely to be regularized in first phase, sources hint.
