JU orders inquiry in Business School irregularities

JAMMU, July 29: Jammu University has ordered an inquiry into the purported irregularities in The Business School and constituted a four-member committee to probe the matter.
The inquiry committee, headed by Dean Academic Affairs Prof Neelam Saraf and comprising of Prof Deshbandhu Gupta, Prof Kulwant Kour and Prof Kulwant Singh, will inquire the allegations against Director TBS Prof Varsha Mehta and then submit a report to the Vice-Chancellor Prof M P S Ishar.
The inquiry committee was constituted today by the Vice-Chancellor following reports of numerous irregularities in The Business School during the past one year.
Pertinent to mention that there was series of protests by student organizations like National Secular Forum for an inquiry into alleged irregularities in The JU Business School.
These student bodies were alleging violation of the university guide lines and misuse of official position by the Director TBS. They had also labeled allegations of corruption against the Director, who also further accused of not providing right information to the PIO Jammu University about the external examiners invited for the PHD final Via-Voce.
