JAMMU, Sept 27: The Department of Library and Information Science, University of Jammu, in collaboration with INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, organized a one-day awareness programme on ORCID and INFLIBNET services for scholarly communities.
The programme was attended by about 135 participants viz – faculty members, Research scholars, and Library professionals from various universities, colleges and research institutions of J&K.
The programme was organized under the supervision of Prof Sangita Gupta, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Head, Department of Library and Information Science.
The inaugural session was presided over by Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Dean Research Studies, University of Jammu and Prof R L Raina, Vice-Chancellor, Jaipur National University, Jaipur, Rajasthan delivered the inaugural address where the relevance of visibility and credibility of research output through the usage of various tools and services was discussed.
Welcome address was given by Prof Sangita Gupta and she emphasized the importance of ORCID and INFLIBNET services in promoting research and academic excellence.
The programme was anchored by the research scholars Pooja Rana and Kumar Chitraketu. The technical sessions featured insightful presentations by Dr Kannan P and Dr Abhishek Kumar on ORCID, Shodhchakra, IRINS and various other INFLIBNET services.
The sessions were aimed to create awareness among researchers, scholars, and librarians about the benefits and applications of these services.
In the valedictory session, Prof Meena Sharma, Dean Planning and Development, was the chief guest. Prof Sangita Gupta, Head, DLIS welcomed the chief guest and briefed about the workshop.
The programme concluded with a feedback and vote of thanks by Ashwin Kumar Kushwaha. The session was anchored by Dr Reenu Arti Thakur, Lecturer in the Department.
