JU organising ‘National Art Camp’ at Patnitop

JAMMU, June 13:The Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu in collaboration with the “Display Your Talent” Alumni Association, University of Jammu is organising a five days National “Art Camp” 2013 at Patnitop  wherein ten senior and eminent artists of the country are participating.
Prof M P Singh Ishar, Vice-Chancellor, formally inaugurated the Art Camp yesterday.
The objective of organizing the Camp is to inculcate awareness about the contemporary art scene at the national and international level, create contemporary art collection for the University of Jammu, impart the knowledge and techniques to the students about the Art movement at the national level by live art demonstrations and slide shows etc and to bring Jammu at the national art scene in general and Jammu University in particular as patrons of art.
This Camp shall also help in promoting the vast tourism potential of the Patnitop area as the Tourists visiting this beautiful spot shall carry a message that shall go to the other parts of the country about the peaceful, secular and friendly atmosphere of the State which has been painted otherwise.
Among others, Lida Singh, Prof N K Tripathi, Prof Jasbir Singh, Dr D L Choudhary, Prof J S  Tara, Director, Poonch Campus,  J K Sharma, Special Secretary to the Vice-Chancellor, Dr Prakash Chand Antahal,  Dr  Shailendra Singh, Dr  Sanjay Sharma, Dr Vishva Raksha, Dr  Meghna Dhar,  Digvijay Singh,  Suman Gupta, Manoj Chopra,  Satnam Singh,  Divya Mahajan (joint secretary  Student Cultural Council) and  Rimpla Kumari  were also present on this occasion.
