JAMMU, Aug 20: The Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu in collaboration with SPIC MACAY (Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) organized a music concert at Brig Rajinder Auditorium.
Debopriya Chatterji and Sushmita Acharya, flute maestro, disciple of Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurisia and Mithilesh Kumar, Tabla Maestro, mesmerized audience with their scintillating performances. The flute Jugalbandi performed by Debopriya Chatterji and Sushmita Acharya with Mithilesh Kumar on Tabla, received thunderous applause from the audience.
Lida Singh Ishar, First Lady of the Campus, University of Jammu, was the chief guest on this occasion and Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice-Chancellor, JU presided over the function.
While interacting with the performers Lida Singh Ishar applauded the performance and thanked SPIC MACAY for promoting Indian culture amongst youth.
Prof Pankaj K Srivastava, Dean Students Welfare presented welcome address while Prof Parmeshwari Sharma, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, presented formal vote of thanks.
