JAMMU, Dec 15: On the occasion of 15th Raising Day of The Yoga Centre in Jammu University, a seminar on ‘Healthy life style through Yoga’ was organized in Association with Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research.
Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor, JU, who was the chief guest of the function, stated that educational institutions and civil society should adopt yoga for betterment of their life. He assured that The Yoga Centre would continue in the University with full vigour and strength and all help and assistance would be provided to the Centre in near future.
Lida Singh, First Lady of the campus, was special guest on the occasion.
Dr D L Choudhary, Director of the Yoga Centre, gave a brief presentation about the Centre while Gopal Sharan from Raj Vidya Kendra, New Delhi, made a video presentation on Shri Prem Rawat, whose message to the world was on peace.
The yoga demonstration by students of yoga under the supervision of Sanjeev Kumar, Yoga Instructor, JU, and Sanjay Asin, Yoga Coach, was performed. The students performed some advanced Asanas and demonstrated their skill.
Dr Roop Lal Sharma, chairman Jammu Institute of Ayurvedic and Research, who was guest of honour in the function, spoke about the relevance of Yoga and Ayurveda in day to day life. He also talked about the relevance of herbal plants such as Neem, Tulsi and Arjun Plant that should be kept in every home.
Chander Gulati spoke at length about the benefits of yoga for having a healthy mind, body and soul.
I D Soni, State Commissioner Bharat Scouts and Guides, said that the inner voice for positive thoughts come through Yoga which leads to self realization in its true sense.
S C Rekhi also spoke on the occasion.
