JAMMU, Aug 17: Department of Philosophy, University of Jammu, under the aegis of Amrat Kaal, organized a Talk for students of the Master Degree Programme on ‘Job Opportunities: Searching for Alternatives’.
The keynote speaker for the talk was Dr Shipra Sinha, consultant on Economics matters and running a web platform for students preparing for competitive examinations.
While interacting with students, Dr Shipra emphasized on the need to set visible targets and work consistently on them. There are ample avenues generated by the Government but students have to pursue professions of their interest and passion. For female students, she stressed that there are chances of pauses in their career pursuits due to family and social engagement but they should never stop pursuing their profession. Apart from seeking job opportunities in Government or Private sectors, she insisted that students must also invest their creative energy in new startups like teaching online, educational apps, and other means of self-employment.
Earlier, Prof Jasbir Singh, Head Department of Philosophy, emphasized that the prime objective of the talk was to help the students to create their own enterprises so that they realize their talents and appreciate the execution of their innovations.
Prof Aroon Sharma, Head, Department of Economics was the chief guest on the occasion, and he desired to arrange such kind of informative talks in the future for other students.
Dr Panu Sharma presented a formal vote of thanks. Dr Ruby Bharti, Dr Sushain Raina and students of the department were also present.
