JU organizes web lecture on career planning

JAMMU, July 12: Placement Cell, University of Jammu (JU) organized third web lecture on career planning in business and management under JU Web Lecture series on career planning.
Prof Manoj Kumar Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion while Prof Rajat Sharma (alumnus of JU) from IIM Ahmedabad was the resource person.
While addressing the students and staff, Prof Dhar advised the students to take the maximum advantage of the expertise of the resource person during this event.
In the interaction with the students, Prof Rajat deliberated upon the need to understand the dynamics and relevance of 5C’s model in the career planning of the professional students. In this approach the C’s are the drivers of the external environment which are Customer, Company, Competitor, Collaborator and Context, he added.
In the internal environmental context of self he suggested the students to adopt the step by step approach of KASH acronymed as knowledge, attitude, skill and habit. He narrated the many success stories having strong correlations with the KASH.
Earlier, Prof Vinay Chauhan, Dean, Student Placement and convener of the event, while presenting welcome address, shared the profile and activity of the placement cell. He further apprised that there are many more lectures of different streams, which are planned in near future. Dr Shubhnandan S Jamwal, secretary of the program introduced the speaker and moderated the event.
In the Question-Answer session, a number of queries were raised by the students and were addressed by the expert. Prof Sameer Gupta, Director Business presented the concluding remarks.
Dr Shellika (Assistant Professor TBS), Dr Isha Sharma (Assistant Professor, ICccR & HRM), Dr Rohit Bhagat (Assistant Professor), Dr Sunil Bhardewaj (Bhaderwah Campus) and Dr Jyoti Sharma (Assistant Professor Kathua Campus) attended the lecture. Shilpa Handoo, training and placement officer, provided the technical and logistic support for this event.
