JAMMU, Oct 13: The Music Club of Jammu University today paid rich tribute to the legendary singer and actor Kishore Kumar on his 36th death anniversary.
In this connection, a musical programme was organized on the campus, which was attended by music enthusiasts and fans of Kishore Kumar. Faculty members, officers, students, scholars and other employees of the University recreated the magic of the iconic songs of Kishore Kumar by their performance. Each performance was a heartfelt message to the legendary actor and singer.
The purpose of organizing the musical event was to bridge the generational gap and create awareness among the present generation about the essence of music and the unique singing style of the evergreen singer.
The programme was conducted under the overall guidance of Prof Satnam Kour, Chairperson-Utsah (The Clubs), who stressed the need for organising more such programs regularly. Coordinators of the different Clubs of the University and distinguished guests on the occasion, included Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Prof Prakash C Antahal, Prof Monika Chadha, Prof Suman Jamwal and Prof Romesh Sharma.
Dr Vikram Sahi, Librarian Dhanvantri Library, JU and Shrishti Sharma conducted the proceedings. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr Neeraj Sharma, Coordinator – The Music Club, University of Jammu.
