JU Safai Karamcharis to boycott work

JAMMU, May 21: Safai Karamcharis in Jammu University have announced to join the  token protest by the agitating Jammu Class IV employees and Casual Labourers from Wednesday  as the ongoing strike is going to enter the second phase tomorrow.
This was announced by Krishan Chand, president of JU Non-gazetted Employees Union while  addressing a protest rally of the employees on the campus on 8th day of the strike today.
The protesting employees sat on dharna at Old Administration block and then marched towards  the Registrar’s Office amidst shouting slogans against the JU administration for not conceding their regularization demand.
Addressing the protesting employees,  Krishan Chand said that  from tomorrow the Union has decided  to intensify agitation by increasing the token protest duration  from  three hours to four hours. He said that  the Safai Karamcharis of Jammu University will also boycott their work and not clean the campus  as a mark of protest against the lack luster approach adopted by JU administration in solving their genuine demands.
