JAMMU, Jan 18: On the second day of Innovation in Scientific Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) Science Internship Camp, Vice-Chancellor Jammu University Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, delivered Lecture on Pharmaceutical Sciences, Drug designing and Drug Development to meritorious 265 students from 24 schools of Jammu Province.
Prof Ishar, in Power Point presentation, gave a detailed deliberation upon the biological importance of proteins, their structure and role in drug designing, discovery, synthesis, drug delivery, Pharmacoeconomics, Clinical Sciences of new drug molecules and computer aided drug design (CADD).
The lecture was followed by a lively interaction with the students.
Earlier Prof Rajnikant from the Dept of Physics & Electronics, delivered lecture on X-rays, which was followed by lecture on Numbers and Computing by Prof Avinash Khare, Eminent Scientist who has worked with NASA and at present Professor in Delhi University. Prof Shalabh, IIT Kanpur spoke about Statistics and its application. A panel discussion on Science as career for students was also conducted. The panelist included Prof A Khare, Prof Shalabh, Prof S K Pandey and Prof M A Malik.
Later interschool Inspire Science quiz competition was held in which 12 teams participated.
Among others Prof P K Srivastav, coordinator, INSPIRE, Prof K K Kapoor and others were also present on the occasion.
