JAMMU, Sept 26: The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jammu (JU) has nominated Prof Yash Pal Sharma from the Department of Botany as the Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences for a period of 3 years.
“In exercise of the powers vested in him under section 29(1) of the Kashmir & Jammu Universities Act, 1969, the Vice-Chancellor is pleased to nominate Prof Yash Pal Sharma, Department of Botany, to act as Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences for the triennial period of 2024-27, till further orders with effect from January 1, 2024 in place of Prof Seema Langer,” read an order issued by Registrar of the University of Jammu.
With over 28 years of active teaching, research, and administrative experience, Prof Sharma is currently working as Professor in the Department of Botany, University of Jammu, with additional responsibility of Rector, Udhampur campus of the University of Jammu.
Formerly, he has worked as the Head of the Department (HoD) Botany from January 2015 to January 2018.
