JAMMU, Feb 11: A book entitled “Forensic Psychology” written by Dr Chandra Shekhar from the Department of Psychology, JU, and Pooja Sharma, Counselor, was released today by Prof Manoj Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, the VC said that forensic psychology has turned out to be an important focal point of medical practice as nicely as scientific research, and it has emerged as one of the most popular matter for both undergraduate and graduate students.
Dr Shekhar apprised the Vice-Chancellor that the book is supposed to serve as an introduction and information to the appreciation and perception of the vast historical, contemporary, a future relationship between the world of the forensic sciences and Psychology. The target market to which this learns about is directed are these intimately or potentially concerned in that relationship: police, forensic scientists, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and professors and students of the crook law.
It is pertinent to mention here that this book contains six chapters explaining different aspects of forensic psychology. Chapter one includes an Introduction to forensic psychology. An Introduction covers fundamental principles and its utility. It also explains its adaptations in India. Furthermore, this is the 4th book of Dr Chandra Shekhar.
Among others Prof Rajni Dhingra, Registrar and Puneet Jain were also present on the occasion.
