JU VC releases Prof Shohab’s ‘Asfar-e-Shohab’

JAMMU, Sept 14: “Asfar-e-Shohab” a collection of travel logs of Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, Principal IMFA, and HoD Buddhist Studies was today released by Prof Manoj Kumar Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu.
“Asfar-e-Shohab” contains 244 pages. The book has been published by Qasmi Kutub Khana Jammu. The book has been compiled by Dr Shahnaz Qadri, HoD Urdu, Govt PG MAM College Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Manoj Kumar Dhar described Prof Shohab as a prominent writer of Urdu language and literature, who had travelled to a number of countries in connection with the promotion of Urdu language. He said that the travel logs of Egypt, Mauritius, Bangladesh and Pakistan are impressive in the sense that it provide the knowledge of civilization, language and culture of these countries.
Prof Qudose Javed, former HoD Urdu, Kashmir University presented a detailed paper on “Asfar-e-Shohab”. Aseer Kishtwari described Prof Shohab not only an Urdu writer but also an organizer and Administrator par excellence. Prof Mohd Reyaz Ahmad, HoD Urdu, presented a vote of thanks.
