JAMMU, May 8: Department of Urdu, University of Jammu today organized a book release function.
On the occasion, three books were released by Vice Chancellor of Jammu University Prof RD Sharma.
The two books–one critical book and other the collections of short stories written by Prof Sageer Afraheim and another critical book written on the life and works of Sageer Afraheim of Aligarh Muslim University by Dr Muzafer Iqbal were released.
The book release function was presided over by noted Urdu and Kashmiri writer Basheer Bhaderwahi while noted historian of the State Aseer Kishtwari grace the occasion as guest of honour. Prof Shohab Inayat Malik and Dr Mohammad Reyaz Ahmed also shared the presidium.
The proceeding of the programme was conducted by Dr Mohammad Reyaz Ahmed, Associate Professor of the department while Dr Abdul Rashid Manhas presented the vote of thanks.
Dr Chaman Lal, Prof Zia-ud-Din, Dr Farhat Shamim, Dr Ajaz Hussain Shah, Dr Shahbaz, besides students, scholars and civil society members also attended the book release function.
