JAMMU, June 17: While on his tour to Ramnagar Campus of Jammu University, Vice-Chancellor Prof Manoj Dhar took a review of the ongoing construction work of the Academic & Administrative Block, Girls & Boys Hostel, which is being executed at the cost of about Rs 10 crores.
In his address to the faculty and staff, he said that since the University of Jammu has shown splendid performance at Centre for World Ranking (CWUR), 2021-22, the teaching faculty, officers and students have now a more decisive and responsible role to play to ensure that the ranking of University achieves newer heights in the years to come.
He directed Prof Mubarak Singh, Rector, Ramnagar Campus to prepare a blueprint with comprehensive recommendations regarding the introduction of new programmes including various skill development courses to reinvigorate the Ramnagar Campus. He stressed that courses be designed keeping in view employability including entrepreneurship avenues for the youth of the region.
He enquired about various facilities being created for the students and was informed that as directed by him earlier, a smart classroom and video-conferencing facility is also being established in the new building, besides the lecture halls, Seminar room, Library, etc. Prof Dhar directed Er V Sharma, Superintending Engineer, University Works Department for close monitoring of the work and to ensure that the work undertaken by the Public Works Department is completed at the earliest.
It may be mentioned that with the completion of these buildings, a long-standing demand of the students in terms of classrooms, laboratories and residential facilities will be addressed.
Among others, Dr Neeraj Sharma, Spl Secy to Vice-Chancellor; Dr Imran Farooq, PRO to Vice-Chancellor; Er Suresh Sharma, Executive Engineer, and Irfan Goni, Campus Development Officer and many others were present on the occasion.
