Judicial Academy organises training prog for Munsiffs, Civil Judges

SRINAGAR, Sept 13: Under the guidance and patronage of Chief  Patron of State Judicial Academy, Justice N. Paul Vasanthakumar, Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Committee of Judges, State Judicial Academy Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar, Chairman, Justice Hasnain Massodi, Member and Justice Janak Raj Kotwal, Member, Jammu and Kashmir State Judicial Academy) today conducted one day Refresher Training programme on “Temporary Injunctions and Examination of Parties under Order X CPC and Moot Court including Order Writing” for all Munsiffs/Civil Judges (Jr. Division) of Kashmir province.
Mohd. Akram Choudhary, Judicial Member, Sales Tax Tribunal and Pawan Dev Kotwal, Director, State Judicial Academy were the Resource persons.
The proceedings were conducted by Pawan Dev Kotwal, Director, State Judicial Academy. In his introductory remarks, Director, State Judicial Academy deliberated on the need for conducting of such refresher traing programme for the Judicial Officers.
A moot/mock court for examination of parties under Order 10 CPC was conducted in which young judicial officers participated as Presiding Officer, Plaintiffs and Defendants. Resource persons pointed out various lapses/omissions committed by the presiding officers in examining the parties and referred various judgments on every minute requirement for the compliance of the provisions.
The participating officers were also made to write orders on ex parte and ad interim injunctions and thereafter  Resource persons dwelt upon the various requirements for drafting such orders in accordance with the relevant provisions of law. The participating officers posed many questions as to the provisions relating to temporary injunctions, examination of witnesses and even other statutory and procedural laws which were answered by the  Resource person to their satisfaction.
Resource persons laid stress on the conduct and ethics to be observed by the officers and asked them that they should work hard with dedication and devotion to mitigate the sufferings of the litigating public so that confidence reposed in the judicial institution is maintained.
