JAMMU, Apr 21: On the instructions of e-Court committee Supreme Court of India and Chief Justice M. M Kumar and Judge Incharge e-Court committee High Court of Jammu & Kashmir Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir, the training programme on “Ubuntu Linux Awareness Cum Training Program under Change Manag-ement” for the Judicial Officers of Jammu District was held today at J&K State Judicial Academy, Jammu.
Judicial Officers of District Jammu and Samba were imparted training on use of Ubuntu Operating System customized by e-Committee, Supreme Court of India. The training was conducted by Master Trainer Umesh Sharma, and Sarfaraz Nawaz.
The training was also held at High Court Complex Srinagar. The Judicial officer of District Anantnag, Kulgam, Baramulla and Budgam participated in the “Ubuntu Linux Awareness Cum Training Program under Change Management”. Shujat Ali Khan Principal District & Sessions Judge Shopian, Rashid Ali Dar Principal District & Sessions Judge Baramulla, Parvez Kachroo CJM Ganderbal, Shabir Ahmad Malik Munsiff Pulwama were the Master Trainers.
The Programme was coordinated by Khalil Choudhary, Central Project Co-ordinator e-Courts High Court of Jammu and Kashmir. He stated that the purpose of the Training Program was to aware the Judicial Officers on the use of Ubuntu Operating System and other applications which are open source and can be easily installed.
The Operating System has low virus threat, very stable and secure. Application like GeSpeaker is used for text to speech, stardict talking dictionary, PDF Application like Xournal is used to make changes in documents saved in PDF format etc. and these applications will help the Judicial Officers in Speedy Justice delivery system. Abdul Wahid, Director J&K State Judicial Academy was also present during the training session. Kiran Kumar Koul NIC Incharge, Pawan Verma, and e-Court Technical Staff namely Mohd Shadab Khan, Naresh Kumar, Sneha Kaul and Cherry Deep Sharma were also present on the occasion.
