JAMMU, Oct 22: BJP State president Jugal Kishore Sharma, along with Suchetgarh MLA Sham Choudhary, addressed a massive public rally at village Treiba in Arnia Sector of Bishnah Constituency. He also donated an ambulance for the local people and handed over a cheque of Rs 10,000 to a poor widow Parsino Devi of the village. The rally was organised by BJP activist Sunil Luthra, who purchased the ambulance from his own kitty to be donated to the people by Mr Sharma. The programme was also attended by Arnia Mandal President, Rajiv Gupta.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, while expressing concern over step motherly treatment meted to the people in border areas, said that majority of them are farmers who produce not for themselves but for others too but they are being discriminated at all levels and in all matters.
He said during the last few months, the border people have been targeted by the Pakistani rangers and Army resulting into deaths and losses to cattle and standing crops. The border people are also working as unpaid soldiers and displaying valour and unity for defeating the nefarious designs of the neighbouring country still none of their work is ever recognized.
He said that the soft policy of the UPAGovernment towards Pakistan has encouraged PakistaniArmy, which is repeatedly violating ceasefire and indulging in firing. This firing has caused panic among the people but the government is still sleeping. He cautioned the UPA not to test the patience of the border people and shed its policy of soft approach towards Pakistan.
Sham Choudhary, said that the border people have never been considered as human beings. They suffer on account of firing from across the border, lack of basic amenities, poor connectivity unemployment. He said that these people are so much fed up by the firing by Pakistan that they want a strong and effective reply to Pakistan.
R.S.Pura District President Sat Pal Pappi and Sunil Luthra also spoke on the occasion.
