Jammu, July 31: BJP MP Jugal Kishore Sharma has been appointed by the party as the whip in Lok Sabha. Apart from the three-time MP from Jammu, 15 others were also named by the party to the post of whip.

Meanwhile, Bihar MP Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal has been appointed as the party’s chief whip in the Lower House.
The list of newly appointed whips includes former Union Minister of State Devusinh Chauhan, former Karnataka Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, Assam MP Dilip Saikia, Bihar MP Gopaljee Thakur, Delhi MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat, among others.
A whip acts as an important link in the internal organisation of a party inside Parliament. They play a vital role in the smooth coordination of the proceedings.
