JAMMU, Dec 24: The newly elected State president of BJP Jugal Kishore Sharma, along with National Executive Members Dr. Nirmal Singh and Ashok Khajuria, former State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, Senior leaders Chander Mohan Sharma, Ramesh Arora (Adv.) and MLA Sham Choudhary visited the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh at Tawi Pul and later statue of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra at Dogra Chowk to pay resects to them before officially assuming the charge as State President.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, while paying tributes to these two Maharaja Hari Singh and former Jan Sangh Chief, said “it is indeed a matter of pride that we had such patriotic figures who put their best efforts to ensure the accession of this State with the Indian Union. Today we are part of India and the real credit goes to them. We take pledge to take forward their mission of ensuring full integration of the State with the rest of the country by working under the slogan of Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan”
Thereafter, Mr Sharma formally assumed the office at Party headquarters in presence of senior leaders and dozens of party activists.
Addressing media persons in his official chamber, Jugal Kishore Sharma said that the State is facing many challenges posed by the anti-national elements and separatist organisations, who have been making all efforts to disintegerate the state. But alert Party activists will not allow them to succeed in their designs, he added.
He said that the refugees from PoK, West Pakistan, those of 1965 and 1971, migrants from Valley and migrants from militancy affected areas of Jammu region have grievances and the BJP will continue to raise their voice at all appropriate platforms. Besides the problem of unemployment is forcing the educated youth to silently migrate out of State, which is not a healthy development, he added.
He also expressed grave concern over the unprecedented corruption and price rise adding that the corruption needs to be uprooted with strong hand.
Sofi Yousuf, Sat Sharma (C.A), Bansi Lal Bharti, Yudhvir Sethi, Vibodh Gupta, Mamta Singh, Balbir Ram Rattan, Munish Sharma, Subash Gupta, Sanjay Khanna, Vikram Randhawa, Sanjay Baru, Ramesh Sharma, Praduman Singh, Ayodhya Gupta, Sat Pal Choudhary, Indu Bhushan, Parmod Kapahi, Ramesh Jasrotia, Raj Rani Jamwal, Rajiv Charak, Jeet Angral, Surinder Choudhary, Karunesh Gupta, Arun Sethi, Gurdyal Singh Bali, Sunny Sehgal, Chetan Mehra, Raj Kumar were prominent among those who also paid their tributes at the statues of Maharaja Hari Singh and Pt. Premnath Dogra.
