SAMBA, June 20: Member Parliament, Jammu-Poonch constituency Jugal Kishore Sharma today chaired a meeting of District Development Coordin-ation and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) to review the physical and financial achievements under various centrally sponsored schemes in Samba.
The meeting was attended by Member Parliament Shamsher Singh Manhas, MLA Samba Dr D.K Manyal, MLA Vijaypur Chander Parkash Ganga, MLA Hiranagar Kuldeep Raj, District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh Tara, ADC, ACD, executive engineers of various departments, district and sectoral officers of line departments and nominated members of DDCMC.
In the meeting, Jugal Kishore Sharma directed the concerned officers to create awareness among the people about various centrally sponsored schemes being implemented by the Government for the upliftment of the downtrodden sections of the society. He said the Central Government has taken one step after the other for the welfare of poor, marginalized, women and unemployed youth in the State.
The members reviewed the physical and financial progress achieved by Rural Development, IWMP, Health, Education, PWD, PMGSY, PHE and other departments in the district.
Regarding construction of bunkers in border areas, the MP directed to ensure the quality of work so that the purpose of providing safer places to the border residents in case of emergency can be fulfilled. He also directed to form a Committee to check the quality of construction work of bunkers.
The ACD, Samba was directed to clear liabilities under MGNREGA and focus on proper identification of beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-G). He directed ACD to provide toilet facilities under SBM to beneficiaries whose houses have been constructed under PMAY, besides renovating Digore pond. The PWD was directed to focus on monitoring of works taken by them.
MLA Samba asked BDO Nud/Sumb to identify sites for construction of check dams and asked them to discuss plan of MGNREGA/convergence and PMAY with concerned MLAs.
Earlier, DDC Samba Rajinder Singh Tara gave resume of achievements through a power point presentation. He informed about the latest status of various developmental projects in the district.
