JAMMU, Nov 19: On the first day of Winter Session of 17th Lok Sabha Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament BJP Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha constituency raised his voice regarding development of Jammu to Akhnoor four-lanning and its widening upto Rajouri Poonch in Lok Sabha .
He said that funds have been sanctioned for Widening of National Highway from Jammu to Akhnoor and upto Rajouri & Poonch. The construction work from Jammu to Akhnoor is in progress. The construction work up to Akhnoor is allotted to National Highway Development Corporation Private Ltd but the work from Akhnoor to Rajouri and to Poonch is under Border Road Organization (BRO), he added.
Member of Parliament brought into the notice of the concerned Ministry that the construction work for widening of road from Akhnoor to Rajouri and Poonch has not been started and progress is very slow. He said that road is very important observes very heavy traffic and congestion creates problems to people. Besides, this road also provides connectivity to border and is also interlink to the rural areas.
Jugal said that Akhnoor to Rajouri & Poonch National Highway work also needs to be allotted to NHIDCL so that the work for widening of National Highway upto Rajouri & Poonch should be started soon.
