Speaks in Dogri in Parliament

JAMMU, Dec 5:Jugal Kishore Sharma, BJP Member of Parliament from Jammu- Poonch Lok Sabha constituency today demanded that the work on National Highway Projects be expedited and also up-gradation of National Highways in Jammu -Poonch Parliamentary Constituency. Raising the issue in Lok Sabha today he said upgradation of NH is important in view of increasing traffic. Jugal got applause from several Jammu based Dogri literary, cultural organizations and prominent citizens as he raised the issue in Dogri language.
Jugal further demanded time bound completion of National Highway projects in Jammu -Poonch Parliamentary constituency. He, while laying stress on construction of National Highway from Jammu to Rajouri and upto Poonch said that whether the Ministry has decided the completion time of the project and stressed a special attention should be laid for its early completion as the projects is very important and it touches major part of the Jammu region. He also put a note to upgrade National Highway from Lakhanpur to Jammu & Upto Udhampur from four lane to six lane and its widening upto required areas.
Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Surface Transport and Highways while replying to the query raised by the Member of Parliament said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi major priority has been given to the road projects in Jammu & Kashmir. While emphasizing on the Jammu -Poonch National Highway project Gadkari said that work on this particular stretch is already in progress and issues related to forest clearance and land acquisition are being examined and directions were issued to the concerned agencies to sort out the matters in time bound manner so that within a span of one year required target should be achieved. Union Minister also highlighted the achievements of road connectivity throughout the country in the last six years.
