Jugal inaugurates new center of UCMAS Abacus

JAMMU, Sept 11: Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore today inaugurated new center of UCMAS Abacus at Channi Himmat on outskirts of Jammu.
On the occasion, the MP honoured students from Jammu and Kashmir who brought laurel to the Union Territory at 22nd National UCMAS Abacus and Mental Competition held at Lovely Professional University in Punjab.
Jugal while addressing the gathering praised the hard work done by students who excelled in Abacus Competition at National level and lauded the staff and management for training students and making them expert in this new technique of education- “UCMAS Abacus”.
He said, “I am really impressed with speed and accuracy with which small kids from 4 to 13 years are able to do mathematics calculation without use of any instrument or calculator; every kid should learn this new education technique so as they are prepared for future competitive examinations.”
Students who participated in 22th National UCMAS Abacus and Mental Competition 2023 and represented J&K at Lovely Professional University include Trisatya Bhat, Karuneshwar Singh Khaira, Ansh Chadha, Vidhan Sharma, Onish Suri, Anaya Singh, Yashit (3rd Runner up), and Atharv Gaur and Pranshul (5th Runner up).
Present on the occasion were Rupesh Masson (Regional Director, UCMAS J&K and Leh), Sonia Masson (Academic Director, UCMAS), Reetika Gupta, Arti Bedi, Shifali, Prabhjyot Kaur and Naresh Mandeep Singh.
