REASI, Dec 5: A public meeting was held in Panjar Panchayat of Moungri block in Reasi, here today under the leadership of former Minister Jugal Kishore Sharma for interaction with the newly elected Panches and Sarpanches.
About a dozen Sarpanches and more than 50 Panchs from different Panchayats participated in the meeting and told Jugal Kishore about the lack of basic facilities in their area. They lamented that there was no road and water supply scheme in the area while the local school was not upgraded for the last 10 years.
While Addressing the Panches and Sarpanches, Jugal Kishore said that people wanted change and end to their long pending development related issues by an easy access to their elected representatives.
He exhorted elected Sarpanchs and Panchs to work hard for the development of their respective areas and make themselves easily available to the people. He discussed the issue of development and basic amenities with them for speedy and well planned works.
Jugal Kishore also lambasted the erstwhile BJP Government for its lackluster attitude towards the basic problems of the people, particularly in Moungri Block. During BJP regime the discrimination with Jammu region has crossed all limits whether it was recruitment or disbursement of funds, he alleged.
Jugal Kishore also asked all Sarpanches and Panches to gear up for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections and make people aware to vote for Congress candidate.
