JAMMU, Sept 9: Member Parliament and former State President of (BJP) Jugal Kishore Sharma, Speaker State Assembly, Kavinder Gupta and MLA R.S Pura, Gagan Bhagat today toured Miran Sahib, Indiranagar, Bhour Camp and Gadigarh. Starting from Miran Sahib Bazaar, a meeting was convened by Dr Gagan Bhagat on the request of Miran Sahib Baazar Association, Shamshanghat Committee of Miran Sahib and prominent persons of Miran Sahib in the Hanuman Mandir Community Hall of Miran Sahib.
The people apprised them of their problems. They alleged that during that period no developmental works were done besides nepotism and favoritism was at its peak, along with the previous NC-Congress Coalition Government in the State. They said nothing was done for the villages in the area and demanded the improvement of the cremation ground of Miran Sahib. They also demanded community bathroom for females.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, and Dr Gagan Bhagat announced Rs.five lac and Rs 3 lakh respectively from their MPLAD Fund and CDF for the development and urgent works in the cremation ground and Rs 12 lakh will be contributed under the Convergence Scheme by the Rural Development Department (RDD) and Rs 5 lakh was also announced by Jugal Kishore Sharma from his MPLAD Fund for the construction of Community bathrooms at Miran Sahib and Rs 8 lakh will be contributed under the Convergence scheme.
The people also highlighted the blacktopping work and issuance of LED lights in the Miran Sahib by MLA Dr. Gagan Bhagat. They also demanded installing two 10 MVA transformers at the Miran Sahib Electric Sub-Station under DDUGJY ,besides blacktopping and construction of drain in the main market of Miran Sahib Bazaar.
Later the BJP leaders visited Indiranagar cremation ground and on the demand of the local inhabitants and Shamshanghat Committee announced Rs.30 Lac from CDF, MPLAD Fund and Convergence scheme by Jugal Kishore, Kavinder Gupta and Dr. Gagan Bhagat.
They also visited the Tulip Garden and open ground of the Floriculture Department where large number of youths raised the issue of Stadium. Kavinder Gupta apprised that Dr Gagan Bhagat has raised the issue in the recently held session of the Assembly at Srinagar and he assured that with the help of MP Jugal Kishore the said construction of stadium will be taken up with the Union Government, Department of Sports and Youth Affairs and the necessary funds will be allotted after taking the State Government into confidence.
