Jugal Kishore meets GM Northern Railways, submits charter of demands

JAMMU, Feb 10: Member of Parliament (MP) BJP Lok Sabha Jammu-Poonch Jugal Kishore Sharma along with senior BJP leader Nand Kishore met Vishvesh Choubey General Manager (GM) Northern Railways at Manwal Railway Station on his visit to Jammu and submitted charter of demands to him.
MP discussed number of development works in his parliamentary constituency with GM. He said that Manwal Railway Station needs to be redeveloped as the number of passengers increased at Manwal Railway Station. Jugal Kishore Sharma discussed that the approaching road to Manwal Railway Station is in very worst condition and needs to be constructed and upgraded.
He further said that the height of the platform at Manwal Railway Station needs to be increased to meet with the foot steps of the train as the old persons, ladies and children as well have to face large number of problems during arrival and departure of the trains. Moreover, he also discussed the other issues regarding stoppage of Uttar Sampark Kranti and DMU at Manwal railway Station and to incorporate the Manwal Station into A Category Railway Stations.
Sharma said that tehsil Dansal, tehsil Majalta and large number of villages get connected through Manwal Railway Station and urging for the stoppage of Hemkund Express as the people has to cover up with the journey of 70 kilometers approximately to travel through this train from Jammu Tawi or Katra Railway Station. The demand of over bridge at Manwal Railway Station was also discussed.
Vishvesh Choubey General Manager Northern Railway accepted the charter of demands and assured that all the demands would be redressed soon. The work for the approaching roads and renovation of platform would be started soon and construction of crossing over bridge would also be processed.
