JAMMU, Apr 18: Describing 10 years of BJP-led Government under the leadership of PM Modi as ‘golden period’ in the history of J&K, the BJP candidate from Jammu-Reasi Lok Sabha Constituency, Jugal Kishore Sharma asserted that Jammu is fast becoming a hub of education and skill development.
“In Jammu region, Nagrota Assembly segment is fortunate to have been transformed into a major hub of higher educational institutes. The construction of prestigious institutes like IIT, IIM and the Craft Institute in the area has not only brought a major transformation in higher education in the region but it has also given a significant boost to the local economy of the area,” Sharma said while addressing a series of public meetings at different places in Nagrota.
He was accompanied by the former legislator and senior BJP leader, Devender Singh Rana, Jammu DDC chairman Bharat Bhushan, Jammu district rural president of BJP, Omi Khajuria, former MLA Shiv Dev Singh, senior BJP leader, Nand Kishore Sharma and other leaders of the party.
The BJP candidate held public meetings at Kishenpur, Marbah, Upper Kathar, Lower Kathar, Korga, Jandrah, Kanyala, Badsoo, Dansal, Jhajjar Kotli, Suketar, Kattal Battal, Nagrota and Panjgrain.
In his address, senior party leader Devender Singh Rana said Jammu has now left an indelible mark in the field of education and research at the national level.
“The construction of IIT, IIM and AIIMS in Jammu will prove to be game changers, not only for meeting the expectations of the people but also in producing ace professionals and technocrats in their respective fields”, Rana said.
“The commitment to inclusive development without discrimination with anyone is exemplified by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ slogan” he maintained.
