JAMMU, May 19: Jugal Kishore Sharma Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Jammu -Poonch constituency while showing concern over the allotment of Central University Entrance Test (CEUT) Examination centres outside Jammu for students hailing from Jammu and Kashmir has appealed the Ministry of Education to review the decision and allot Centres within Jammu region.
Member of Parliament in a letter to the Union Minister has turned his attention towards this important issue. He urged the Union Minister that the matter be settled immediately and demanded allotment of Centres to the students hailing from Jammu within Jammu region i.e Jammu/Samba/Kathua/Katra/Udhampur/Rajouri and other areas .He said that establishment of Centres for CUET examination which is going to be held on May 21 onwards in Punjab instead of Jammu for aspirants from Jammu region seems to be injustice. He said that it is very inconvenient for the students from far flung areas to appear in the entrance test in Punjab. He brought into the notice of Ministry about the topography of Jammu region as hilly and far flung area and requested the Ministry to establish the examination Centres in Jammu. Jugal got an assurance from the Ministry that this issue would be addressed soon.
