REASI, Sept 15: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Jugal Kishore Sharma today visited the landslide hit Saddal village in Block Pancheri of Reasi Assembly constituency and distributed relief items among the affected people.
He along with other Congress activists, reached Saddal hamlet with a truck load of relief material, which was distributed among 127 affected families. The distributed material included kitchen utensils, blankets, clothing, ration and other eatables.
Speaking on the occasion, Jugal said that he alongwith Congress workers were making all out efforts to mitigate the sufferings of the flood-affected people. “I assure you that the in this hour of crisis, the Congress party is standing firmly with you. I will raise your plight at every appropriate forum and ensure adequate relief for the victims,” the MLC told the gathering of villagers.
Jugal Kishore further said that provision of relief was just a healing touch for the flood affected people who need more help in rehabilitating them
He also appealed the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board to adopt such distressed villages and construct houses for the affected people as Shrine Board is capable of doing it.
