RAMNAGAR, Feb 21: While addressing a series of public meetings at Gadseri, Dheeran, Baryalta and Dhanwalt, Juhi Manhas, Vice Chairperson DDC Udhampur called upon the executive agencies to ensure the time bound and qualitative completion of developmental works in the area of Udhampur.
She further called for immediately improvement and proper alignment of Rown-Ramnagar road. It is biggest travesty of time and place that crores of money has been pumped into this road and the almost two lac population of Ramnagar has been despaired due to unfruitful and haphazard expenditure of money on the project, she said and called for immediate crash measures to improve/upgrade Roun-Ramnagar vis-à-vis for a detailed enquiry in the swindling of funds meant for the widening of Roun-Ramnagar road.
She further said that although comprehensive DPRs under Jal Jeevan Mission have been prepared for the entire district but tangible action as on ground is yet to emerge. She called upon concerned officers as well as the district administration to embark on a mission mode so that true benefits of this ambitious scheme of the Central Government ‘Har Ghar Ko Pani’ percolate upto the farthest levels. She also called for framing of DPRs for PMGSY-III (fresh roads and up-gradation too) in consultation with the elected representatives.
While having an on-spot purview of the school building of GHS Chak Baryalta built under RAMSA by PWD, she voiced serious concern as to why six years have elapsed by since the contractor has completed the work and drawn the payment in full but the school authorities have not taken it over as yet. She called for immediate improvements on the said school building so that the building is handed over to the people of the area. She also called for immediate operationalizing of drinking water supply schemes in Dheeran and Baryalta villages.
She also called for fishing out the fraud committed on sub-stranded execution of work on Primary School Nehari in the village Chak Baryalta where walls and roof of building has been ripped apart due to sub-standard execution of work.
Juhi Manhas was accompanied by DDC Councilors from Ramnagar-I Mool Raj, DDC Latti-Marothi Pinky Devi, DDC Ghordi, Rakesh Bodhi and DDC Narsoo Subash Chander, Sarpanch Jyoti Devi, Sarpanch Reeta Devi, Neelam Devi Panch, Shanti Devi Panch, Krishan Chand, Nanak Singh, Pyt Chairman, Vijay Singh, Mohinder, Romesh and others.
