JAMMU, Nov 5: The Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) has received NBA accreditation for its B.Tech. Biotechnology program, offered by the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics.
The NBA accreditation is extended through three academic sessions till 2027.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Sudhir Kumar, Head of the Department, said, “The first NBA accreditation for the B.Tech. Biotechnology program at JUIT occurred in 2014. This recent accreditation was achieved due to the university’s management vision, strong infrastructure, dedicated faculty, and committed students.”

The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) is one of the two major bodies responsible for accrediting higher education institutions in India, alongside the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
The NBA accredits technical programs, such as engineering and management and is a full member of the Washington Accord. Recently JUIT awarded NAAC A+ grade valid through 2029.
NBA accreditation process serves as a quality assurance and improvement measure, critically appraising programs in approved institutions to verify that they continue to meet or exceed the norms and standards prescribed by regulatory bodies.
Accreditation is a form of recognition that indicates a program meets certain standards. Accredited institutions and programs enhance student confidence, as employers highly value degrees from accredited programs.
Furthermore, accreditation demonstrates accountability to the public, a commitment to excellence, and a focus on continuous quality improvement.
