Junior docs in strike

Sir,
This has reference to the news item ‘Junior docs go on strike’ DE Apr 15.
This is not the first time that such an incident has happened. Such incidents take frequently in hospitals of the State. There is urgent need to address this issue in a holistic manner wherein all aspects of the situation are dealt by the stateholders. It is an admitted fact that the leading two hospitals in the State-one at Jammu and other in Srinagar remain overcrowded day and night. The overcrowding is due to lack of proper facilities and staff in the feeding hospitals located in towns and villages of the State. Once this problem is overcome, it will reduce pressure on these hospitals to a considerable extent. Obviously, the staff in GMC will have low number of patients to deal with.
Besides, security apparatus in hospitals should be strengthened to overcome any security situation easily without making any fuss.
The strike by the junior doctors affects other patients-particularly those who are in dire need of specialised treatment or those who can foot the private hospital bill.
Yours etc….
