NEW DELHI: Junior lawyers can now mention cases before the Supreme Court besides Advocates on Record (AoRs) and Senior Advocates.
Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra on Thursday relaxed this norm of mentioning of cases before the apex court.
Earlier, the general practice and trend before the Supreme Court was that only AoRs and senior lawyers used to mention cases or matters before the apex court for listing of their matters.
But, now this was widened up by the Supreme Court and the junior lawyers can also mention cases before it for listing of matters of their clients cases for an early hearing.
The top court, however, made it clear and asked the junior lawyers to come prepared and have a thorough knowledge of those cases before mentioning them before it. (AGENCIES)
