LEH, Oct 23: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh has declared Juniper as the State Tree of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
An order issued in this context by Dr Vasanthakumar Namasivayam, Commissioner Secretary, Forest, Ecology and Environment, UT of Ladakh, read, “the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Ladakh is pleased to declare ‘Juniperus semiglobosa’ (Juniper Tree/ Ladakhi-Shukpa) as State Tree of the Union Territory of Ladakh.”
