JAMMU, June 2: Student organizations and the sole representative body of Jammu University research scholars have stepped up the demand for removal of Director Business School for alleged irregularities in admission and placement of the MBA students.
Addressing the media person here today, Jammu University Research Scholars Executive Association president Rakesh Chib strongly rebutted the clarification made by Director TBS over the placement of students of offsite campus and MBA IB
“According to the decision of the Jammu University Council all the administrative control of MBA IB is wholly in the hands of Director TBS and she cannot skip herself from the due responsibilities on her,” Mr Chib said.
The admission process for students of MBA IB is totally under the control of the Director TBS and the Broachers for the admissions were designed and published by the Dean Placement on the direction of VC because Director MBA had refused to publish the same, he added and condemned the Director for not organising any summer training programmes and internships for the MBA IB students.
The JURSEA president further alleged that for MBA admission where five seats were reserved for Domicile category in Kathua campus, the list was released on May 22 at 5 p m and no notice to the candidates was issued through newspapers and other sources.
Meanwhile, the National Secular Forum (NSF) activists also protested against the alleged irregularities in the admission and placement of MBA students of The Business School besides appointment of incompetent officers on key positions in the JU administration. They also torched an effigy of Vice-Chancellor of Jammu University.
Talking to the media persons, NSF leader Surjit Choudhary alleged that the deserving candidates were ignored during the admission of MBA course on the campus, while favourites and blue-eyed were given preference.
“Director of The Business School is indulged in financial irregularities and anti-students policies while the University authorities are acting like a mute spectator to this whole drama,” he alleged.
He also demanded that the new registrar should be removed and be replaced with some competent and capable person to restore the credibility of the post.
