JU’s CIQA starts industry-academia linkage lecture series

JAMMU, Nov 12: The Centre for Internal Quality Assurance (CIQA) at the University of Jammu’s Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) today launched its industry-academia lecture series with an insightful session on “Individual’s Investment Opportunities in India”.
This series aimed at bridging industry-academic gaps, giving students practical knowledge of India’s financial landscape.
The inaugural session featured guest speaker Pankaj Sasan, Assistant Director of Jammu’s Industry and Commerce Department, who shared expert insights into identifying profitable investment opportunities, understanding market dynamics, and assessing risks for individual investors.
With a background in Industry and Commerce, Sasan emphasized the role of personal investments in fostering economic growth and industrial development in Jammu and Kashmir.
He offered guidance on leveraging local resources for sustainable growth, job creation, and improved socio-economic conditions.
Under the guidance of Prof Pankaj Kumar Srivastava, Director of CDOE, the event opened with a welcome address by Dr Deepti Abrol, event coordinator, who introduced Sasan to the students.
Sasan also explained the processes for provisional and permanent registration, offering advice for students interested in launching their own ventures.
Throughout the lecture, students gained insights into investment strategies, essential financial tools, industry-specific challenges, and recent trends affecting individual investor decisions.
An interactive Q&A session allowed students to clarify their understanding on portfolio management and industry growth, receiving actionable advice from the guest speaker.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, and Prof Sandeep Kour Tandon, Director of CIQA, presented Sasan with a token of appreciation for his contributions.
