JAMMU, Oct 28: Department of Computer Science and IT, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu today organised a one day workshop on “Recent technologies and their applications in the IT industry” for the students of MCA programme.
Dharamveer Singh, Project Head, SEBIZ Technologies, Chandigarh and Nitin Bajaj from NET SMARTZ Technologies Chandigarh were the resource persons.
The resource persons discussed the recent trends and technologies of IT industry and also made students aware of the necessary skills required to seek placements and excel in the IT world.
Earlier, in the welcome address, Deepak Gupta, In-charge MCA while welcoming the resource persons said that this workshop will enhance academic as well as technical skills in the students. He acknowledged the efforts and support of Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Rector, Kathua Campus in organizing such events on regular basis in the interest of overall personality development of the students.
The workshop comprised of two sessions. In the first session, Dharamveer Singh introduced students with Application Software and web designing fields of Information Technologies like PHP, JAVA, Andriod, Iphone development etc. and their applications in the current industrial scenario. He mentioned that application software development is a key component of the IT industry and is the best field for the MCA students to enter and sustain in the software market. He also added that there is a huge scope for website development and designing.
In the second session, a demo placement drive was carried out by the resource persons, wherein a general aptitude test was conducted. It was followed by a HR round in which a demo interview session was held.
All the faculty members including Deepak Gupta, Pardeep Singh, Surbhi Gupta, Ajay Lakhnotra, Nidhi Sambyal and Riti Prakash Singh Katal coordinated different sessions of the workshop.
